Can I run a CD-R on a P-166 with 64 Megs of Ram? Its for a computer at work. All the CD-R's that Ive seen require atleast 200MHZ.

Thanks!

How fast are you planning on recording at? I have seen cdr's in the past work on a P166, but I don't think you'll be able to record something like 8x on that old of a system.

With a plextor with Burnproof even a 486 would be able to burn cd's with that drive.;)

That's just what I was gonna say. Burnproof will be essential for you most likely. But even with burnproof, you may only be able to use a very slow record speed.

FYI...

The new Plextor Burner came today. So far Ive copied 2 cd's at X4 speed and No coaster! So it looks like a P-166 can handle a burner! :) I'll try faster speeds later this week if anyones interrested.
