cd-r media

longer life and also affordability. i'm not sure which cdr to put my trust on since i'm going to start buying them in big bundles. i'm asking you people which cdr from the two above which you have used or do know will be of better quality and price.

I've heard that some Imation CDRs have turned out to be manufactured by Taiyo Yuden, which would easily rival Kodak in quality. Try looking on the outside of the Imation box/spindle for Made In Japan. If it's not made in Japan, it's probably not Taiyo Yuden, and in this case, or if you can't inspect the container before buying (i.e., online vendor), I'd get the Kodak blanks.

Best Buy has an excellent deal on Fuji 24x CDRs this week. 100 pack for 29.99 - $10 MIR. The Fuji s are Taiyo Yuden. IMO, this is a great price even without the rebate. Available online:

KODAK NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Imation is made by CMC Magnetics in Taiwan in most cases. The $7/50 cheapie from Outpost.com also comes from CMC Magnetics.

Can anyone tell me who manufactures the Office Depot CD-R's. I've been using them for quite some time now without any problems, however they do look kind of cheap.

I can't tell, because they can vary from lot to lot. You may get a good batch and get a dud on the next purchase..

If it says made in Taiwan, I'd guess its made by CMC Magnetics(cheapest) or slightly better Ritek.
