I have a 1993 neon with the stock CD player and it is not designed to play CD-R's but occasionally I can trick it into playing CD's if I burn them slow on high quality discs. What I want to do is start a thread where people can tell us the magic formula that works for your cars stereo. I was thinking of putting together a webpage for this purpose but I dont have any real web space that runs php and mySQL (nudge, nudge). I just wanted to put this out there and see if anyone is intrested or knows a really good CD brand for these purposes.

Sorry, the last 3 cars I've owned have never given me problems with playing burned CDs. You might be further ahead by getting a replacement head unit for like $75 which would most likely have no problem reading them. At least it would save the frustration.

The 5 disk changer that came with my 99 taurus wagon has no problem playing burned cds at all.
