I honestly don't know. I've ordered from rima.com two times in the past couple years, and the prices have been about the same. They seem to be a bit higher than sale prices that you get at best buy, circuit city, and other retailers. But again you're getting the best media out there (last I checked).

I don't have specific links, but here's what I remember. TY gets like 80 years on time test simulations. CDR and DVDRs use dye right. Well that oxidizes over time so these discs don't last virtually forever like the stuff you buy printed (music, games, movies, etc). Some of the cheap manufacturer's got scores as poor as 2 years. I ran into some of those as the whole reason why I looked up TY is because I had some discs corrupt.

It's really like $0.29 per disc after shipping costs. UPS Ground takes me 4-5 business days.

And if you order from them, be sure you're credit/debit card's billing address is the same as your shipping address. Rima will call you up if it's not and you can haggle. I had to do that the first time I ordered when I was at a college semester.

Never heard of prodisc. When I looked up TY it was the clear winner. There were a couple other good ones which I don't remember.

I'm using Staples branded dvd media and Memorex and TDK cdr's.
I used to care what kind I used, then came to the realization that it's bullshyt to spend a dime more than I have to.

I just buy some TDK's at Costco, get the buy 1 get one free coupon. Very high quality, and with the coupon you get 200 for 25 bucks.

And the media I got from rima.com is indeed authentic Taiyo Yuden.

...Neither am I.

haha, reading my comment again I sound like a jackass.

I never really pay attention to the reflection, and I handle discs by holding the edges.

But yeah, they do take finger prints easily. I just tried directly touching the top.

Not a problem, it was just an assumption and if you've never had the problem happen to you I can see where it came from. I almost always handle them by the edges or the edge and the middle, but somehow a fingerprint always shows up.

By the way, I think it was at Super Media Store, but they had 200 HP CD-Rs along with 200 slip covers for $49.xx including tax and S&H, so it came out to about 17.8 cents a CD.

Edit: And before you ask, I don't know the manufacturer of HP CDs/DVDs, sorry. 🙁

legend, what do you mean by haggle? is it a problem to not have matching addy's? cuz i don't...

I basically said "well I'm at college and my address changes all the time" and they were like "since it's a small order, we'll let it pass. Just change your billing address next time".

buy.com just had 100 52x verbatim / memorexs for $12.99 or $17.99 with free shipping.

CD's I think are going to be a dinosaur soon...everything will be DVD or better.

I have 4 opticals though 🙂 CD, CDRW, DVD, DVDRW/DL

newegg sells them in bulk among other sites
All discs should have no coasters per any amount. I haven't had a coaster since burnproof was implemented. The real problem is loss over time.
