CD-R blinking light problem

I have been through 3 cd-r drives and all of them have had this same problem. Currently I am using a Toshiba 24x10x40 and my previous drive was a liteon 2410B. In both cases, I use Nero (whatever the latest version is) to burn a cd, finalizing it, and burning with Smart-Burn. When the cd is 100% burned, the green light keeps blinking on the drive and the program freezes. The only way i can access the disk is using a paperclip, and then restarting the computer to be able to use the drive again. The strange thing about this problem is that it magically fixed itself when i had the lite-on drive without me doing a thing. Then that drive crashed so i got the Toshiba and now the problem is happening again. Any ideas out there??

I've had that problem too, although not as often as you. I have the Lite-On drive and I only get that problem when I'm trying to read CDs. Once the light starts blinking, it will not read another CD unless I restart the computer. But I also had a different problem where the tray on the CD-RW would keep popping out when I booted up my computer. I would close it, and it would pop back out. I guess it "sensed" that I had it on the wrong channel or something. So you might want to try switching the CD-RW to another channel to see if that helps. Good luck
