I can't figure this crap out...

One day I rebuild my computer (new mobo, different cables, fresh OS install)..

Now all of a sudden I get skips in my audio cds....

Soooo. I automatically assume the burner...... get a spankin new pioneer 16x dual layer dvd burner (going from an 8x lite-on dvd burner)...

Lo and behold.. Same damn thing

So I figure maybe it's the media. Get some new media.. Again, same damn thing!

I'm getting so frustrated. I even re-installed the EIDE drivers (nForce 3 ultra mobo)...

What else should I change/check?

It's not the cd player in my car, as I burned a cd for my wife, and the same damn thing happened in her car. So that rules out the cd players, and the media thus far.

Could is possibly be the data cables? One hard drive is SATA, the other is EIDE..

alright, just for sh*ts and giggles,

I burned the same exact cd in both Nero and Ulead BurnNOW (that came w/ my new burner), and burned them equally (same burn speed & settings)

Oddly enough, the Nero disc had lots of errors during playback, while the Ulead burnt cd had absolutely ZERO errors during playback..
