CD Question.

I have an alpine receiver in my car, with "CDTEXT" features. Certain CDs I have will include the song title and the band name. I was wondering if I could do the same thing when I burn a cd. Like program the song names and stuff so my cd player will know what they are. A good example is like My System Of A Down cd will have CD TEXT, but since I never cary my real cds in my car, rather burns of them, the burned copy doesnt have the cdtext feature. Is there anyway I can do this?

can't you make a direct copy with something like CDIMAGE.. or can't you just program the CD to say what you want on the reciever?

Exactly what I need to find out I want to program the CD to tell my CDplayer what to call them.

In Easy CD Creator 4.0 there's a feature to create the CD TEXT when you are burning. Just fill out the album and artist info at the AudioCD layout screen, and check the box for it to create the CD TEXT when you are ready to burn.

err i meant to program the reciever to recognize the CD. see my friend has to type in a name for every CD he puts in.

Yeah, see i have a really sh|tty version of easy cd creator, and like my burner wont support any other versions

whoa, you can actually input the text into that receiver? so you want the receiver to function like the computer where you put in a CD and it gets the CD info?

hm.. not sure what other programs out there can burn CDTEXT during the creation... What's your burner and how come easy cd creator 4 won't work..?

I have a plextor 8x20 burner. really nice.
Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5b.

I tried updating to 4.0, but everytime Id try to make a cd, it would get like halfway through, then totally screw up and freeze my whole OS. I tried unloading and reloading it twice, same results. I finally just went back to 3.5b and it works fine. Im building a new box now, so hopefully my burner will be a lot better.

Er, so I guess version 3.5b doesn't have the CDTEXT option, eh? I remember my old version 3.0 didn't have it..

Try Nero 4.0 or 5.0
I think cdtext was introduced in 4.0

You may want to try clonecd. I think it copies cd text cause cd text is subchannel data. But don't quote me on that... Just a suggestion.
