it can be pretty much hit and miss with cd-r's. I have used the cheapo's with no problem. only backing up playstation games did I really have problems that I could trace directly to the cd and only then because playstation disks are black so the darker the better. anyway unless you are cut off from retail outlets that is no great price. comp usa, best buy, staples or any other number of stores will usually offer a 50 pack spindle for $10 and sometimes less with a rebate. in the last month I have gone through an extreme number of disks (100) due to my new cable modem and the impending doom that is supposed to befall napster. also dont worry about getting gold disks as it only raises the life expectancy from 30 years to 50 years either way its overkill since all my disks will be lost or ruined due to poor care in 10. I do like the disks with the blue bottoms though. and like I said for playstation the darker the better.
