CD Problems- Windows ME

Going over to a neighbor who having this problem with their PC. They say that after using the PC for around 10-15 min, Windows locks up and the CD activity light on the drive starts blinking. The only way to get the PC to respond is to press the reset button. I had them close all programs buy systray and explorer yesterday, but the problem is still there so I'm going there.

Has this happpened to anyone before?
