CD Problem

I don't know if this should be in GH or not...sorry if it is.

Anyways, I have a game CD that has a problem. I tried installing it on another computer twice and got errors both times. I tried making a copy of the CD, but it gave me an error again. It must just be a little scratch somewhere that causes it to not be able to read a file. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

what error are you getting...and is this a legal copy of the game or warez?

Try cleaning it with a car wax/polish, there is a web page out there on this but I can't find it right now.

It is a legal copy. When I install it, it gives an error about not being able to copy a file, data1.cab or something. Nero just says 'burning error'.

find the offending scratch
use the toothpaste trick.
google cd scratch toothpaste.
ive used this on ps2 games, it worked for me.
just be gentle.

Did the toothpaste once, tried it, didn't work. Tried more toothpaste, trying to copy now. 20:1 it doesn't work..

See if you can copy all the files from the disc to harddrive.

Nope...damn. Guess i'll have to send it back if I ever want to install it again..
