04 Civic Lx with stock radio/cd player. While on a road trip accidentally tried to put a cd in while there was already one in. It went in a a funny angle at first then stopped. After realizing what i did, I removed the second CD and was able to eject the CD that was already in it but it has never worked again after this. It wont accept a CD into the slot and when I press the CD mode button it does not respond (it used to say "no disc"). Anyone gone through this? Any suggestions?

Pretty cheap and easy to swap out the head unit - you can get a nice one that is MP3 capable and has AUX input (for an MP3 player/Ipod) :) think of it as an opportunity to upgrade :)

Oh and www.crutchfield.com is a good place to figure out what would fit and all that...

Unfortunately stereo head units are not really made to be repaired. You can check with a dealer or on a dedicated Civic board to see if there is a reset procedure of some sort, but that's a long shot. Most likely your only real option is to replace it.

If you absolutely must have the same head unit then you should check a salvage yard first. You should be able to get one a lot cheaper than at the dealership. But like njmodi said, you're most likely going to be able to get an aftermarket with tons more features for less money. Hell you can get unit with a 7" DVD touchscreen for ~350 nowadays.

If you're uncomfortable replacing it, ask around and see if you can find friends that have done it before. I'm no expert but I've done it on 2-3 vehicles in the past. It's not usually very difficult other than the tight spaces. The big box retailers will usually do it for a fairly reasonable flat fee as well.

 Thanks for all the input. To be honest I was hoping there was some secret reset that would solve the issue, oh well. I guess I should just get a new deck with an input and join the rest of the world by getting an MP3 player.

As a full reset - you could just unplug the car battery for a few minutes - that may *reset* the CD player... keep any audio system security codes etc handy...you might need them if you unplug the battery...
