CD Load freeze

Sometimes when I load a CD (usually an Audio CD) my computer will freeze for about 20s and then get back to work. That happened with Windows Me and is happening with XP too. Anyone knows how to stop this? What causes this problem?
 
dont know if this can help but they have a cd fix in windows update for windows xp

maybe that will solve the problem

i dont remember the section it is in...just check all


 
I don't think this is a software issue. And if it is, it's odd that two different OS's would produce exactly the same problem.
