I heard that they can possibly shift the balance of your CD's.. is this true? or is it okay to slap these on? I have a freind here that is using them...

Only if they're going to be on one side of the disc. If it's a label completely around the surface (a la CD Stomper), it'll be balanced (unless you use heavy ink :D).

I used Stomper labels for color and Neato Gold Metallic for B&W (metallics can be used only with Laser printer). In the last few months, the Stomper labels that are already two years old started to peel off, the Neato Metalic still holding.

It is really a problem, I can not use them, and I cannot peel them further to remove the rest of the label. I cut the peeled part with a razor, so I can backup (this time without a label) the important CDs, and destroy the peeled CDs.

just a tip, don't leave it in the player to play for a long time (car)... you know, like over 3 months? it gets hot.. hehee... i did, and it got all wrinkly :) It's fun to make labels, but i've lost the motivation (and don't feel like buyin labels)
