What is a good/economical cd labeling kit? I want to get one for my girlfriend for Christmas, so it has to be of decent quality. Some kit with lots of software and an actual system to put on the sticker is wanted.

Thanks

Neato works pretty well. You can use their software (mediaface II) or I believe you can download templates for MS Word.

Are you sure it's a good idea to give computer hardware or accessories to a girlfriend as a gift? I think flowers, chocolates and even the most basic jewelry will work better.

But then again, nothing says "You are special to me" like a CD labeling kit.

Wait, I got an idea, get your mother 128 MB of RAM for the Mother's Day!

Well, you've chosen out some nice stereotypical bf-gf gifts. Maybe a big fuzzy animal too - that is what all bf give their gf, right?

She has a large collection of cd's she has burned and she loves to play around with clip art and images. She has mentioned many times how neat it would be to have a cd labeling kit, but that it seemed somewhat expensive. You do not know me, you do not know her, so I do not see why you feel you have any basis to insult my choice of gifts.

The one I have is really nice, except I never have time to use it bc it takes a while to make jewel case stuff and cd labels.

Mine is this "CD-R Labeling System CD Stomper Pro." It doesn't say who made it but it's the one with the stomping thing to center the label on the CD. The packaging is purple colored with some yellow outlining on the box. It has 10 jewel case insert sheets and 50 CD-R labels.

I just used the Neato kit a few days ago for the first time and it worked great!

I did not use their software however, since my company's publications manager suggested I use his Adobe Pagemaker template instead.

I've been meaning to pick up a kit for home use for a long time.

Costco has the CD Stomper kit (mentioned by someone else in this thread) for about $20, and I think it comes with 300 labels. Anyone know if this is a good kit?

Thanks,

joel

Not 300 labels I'm sure of that I have it. It's alright, but you know once u have it you never really end up using it. It's really a pain in the ass.

The "CD Stomper Pro Labeling Kit" is about the best one out there. I have several different brands and this one is my favorite. It comes with the best label applicator out there. The best thing about this kit is it can be had for $10 with a $10 mail (that's free, well ~60-90 cents in tax + a stamp, for the math challenged) in rebate from Fry's until Teusday evening at 10 PM.

I would definately recomment the CD Stomper Pro. It is quite cheap, has one of the best applicators, and it comes with good software, the SureThing CD Labeler. All in all, that's what I recommend.
