Bought my brother a computer for Christmas, and let him pick out some games at BB (3 for $50 with computer purchase) Anyway, he got Delta Force Black Hawk Down from Novalogic. The CD key does not work. It has 3 characters which look to be 0s (zero) or O (letter). Anyway I have tried every combination possible. Heck even the Gs look somewhat like Cs etc.

Why cant they just print it normally and not use a dot matrix printer or at least cross out the 0 (zeros) or something.

Frustrated that 2 of 3 games do not work thus far.

Yeah, it's happened to me as well before. Seems like a piss-poor way of doing business. I thought I recalled a rather popular game a few years ago, the CD keys were printed in ink that rubbed right off.

I just went to the store and got a new one. My Far Cry key was smeared.

My Diablo 2 key rubbed off. Good thing too. That game was like crack.

Diablo 2 was more addicting than WoW. :)

Make sure you're typing in the actual key and not a part number -- someone here was typing the part number off the back of the Doom3 jewel case instead of the CD key hidden under disc 3 inside.

Friend and I bought BF 1942 package with all the expansions (just wanted a key for DC) and get this..... BAD CD's

never got a bad CD before. Tried it in 6 different comps. Discs were tweaked, sucked. Wally World did a straight up trade for new discs and they worked great.

Similar thing with MOH:War Chest from Amazon.com. Two of the game CDs were bad, couldn't get them to play in any computer (well, three different ones, at least). Amazon actually sent me a box, postage paid, to return it. Not only that, even before they shipped the return package, they sent me a new copy of the game. Funny thing is, the CDs didn't even look damanged, scratched, etc. They just crashed the installer.

I got it, it was Qs on both. They need a better printer, there was not even a dot to make the Q different from the 0 or O.
