CD icon next to mouse cursor?

I have problems with CD icon on mouse cursor... It is still there (blinking) even when i have no CD/DVD in the drive. OS is Windows XP. Can anybody help me?

I had the same thing for the longest time, and it happened whether there was a disk in the drive or not.

It finally went away when I gave my DVD drive to my mother and bought a new one...now she has the same thing on her machine.

In my case, the culprit was the drive itself. If it's really driving you nuts, try swapping it out with a different drive.
 
Thank You for help, i will try to find somebody with spare drive. It really drives me crazy, because it is there simply whole the time.
In linux i switched to recently it is of course ok...
