Athlon 64 3000+
Epox 8kda3j motherboard
2 hdd on raid 0

Problem:
CD/DVD rom not working

Bios detects them just fine. Went to device manager and it says drives are functioning just fine. But "My computer still does detect them. Loading CDs wont work.

I tried to reinstall them through device manager as well as the IDE controllers and windows detects them fine, but they still won't show in "My Computer."

Pleeeeeease Help. Thank you all.

Go to "My Computer," right-click on any drive, and go to "Properties." Once there, click on the "Hardware" tab. Does the CD drive show up there?

What OS are you running? If you are running XP or 2k, look at Disk Management? Do you see it in there? Maybe you have conflict with the drive letters.

Try uninstalling it from device mgr and reboot. That's what I did when I had the same problem and it fixed it.
