CD/DVD drive auto run

I set my drive auto run like a week or so ago and I've forgotten how to do it. I know I can explore it and manually click the icons and such, but I don't want to have to do that. I want to pop the sucker in and have it run for me and do the work so I don't have to.

Help?

UPDATE:

I've tried right-clicking on my D: drive and going to the auto play tab. I have it set to prompt me with everything so I can tell it what to do. No dice. I DL'd and installed Tweak UI and the boxes were checked. I unchecked and rechecked just so I could click 'Apply' and still no dice. I tried two different types of CDs, same problem. I'm all WTF😕'd. 🙁

i was going to suggest going to the autoplay tab on d: and deselecting the prompting thing and making it automatically run...

Yea, change the "Select an action to perform" to Play using Windows Media Player, under Music CD, Music files, Mixed content, and DVD movie.

Dogpile finds all... 😉

As for me, off is a good thing. Own any Sony audio CDs? Chances are that you want it off if they come near your computer.

Okay so the Autorun tab options didn't work... so try this:

- Go to Start, Run, type in "regedit"
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom.
- Double-click the Autorun key, change the Value data to 1

'Tis now running like a champ. I did this and just about everything else people have suggested.

Thanks, guys for your help. I was becoming a little more than just frustrated. Now I just need to connect my phone to my PC (granted later today since I've stayed up all night) and make sure I can get EVERYTHING running.

(I bought a cell phone and was trying to install the stooopid software onto my laptop. I could do it the old-fashioned way, but I wanted the sucker to autorun. It'd been doing that to just about any cd/dvd I put in there.)
