cd/dvd combos

Liteon is considered good by quite a few here at AT. It's been a reliable brand so far for me, and is not expensive.
Aopen is another one that I have used extensively and has worked well for me.
Plextor is the best brand in my opinion when it comes to burners.
Sony is, I believe, rebadged liteons.

If you have a question about a brand you were looking at, let us know.

Do you have a model number for the Samsung CDRW/DVD combo ?

How good is it for reading slightly damaged CD's ?

Any other good combo's ?

liteon dvd-rom rocks in terms of quality and fault tolerant. However, my liteon ltd-160(?) makes too much noise when reading CDR, although it is quiet when reading DVD. Don't know it is an individual case or not.
