CD Drive not being recognized

For some reason my CD drive isn't showing up under my computer, its not being recognized at all, I recently put in a new hard drive and went to run the installation CD and when I went under my computer to click the CD-Rom drive it wasn't there.


Any ideas what could be the problem? I check all connections with cables and such and its a no go.

What kind of HD, i.e. SATA or ATA? Is is connected to an IDE port? How is it jumpered? Are there any other devices on its cable?
