I bought a cheap cd drive today to install my operating system. I popped the cap off of the bay I was going to put it in, and nothing lines up. There is no way for the drive to hold in place, no screw holes, no brackets.
 
Sounds like your case uses drive rails, they screw to the drive and then the drive clips into place. Check on the backside of the drive cover or inside the case somewhere.
