Cd Changer for Computer

Does anybody know if there is a such thing as a cd changer for a computer, whether it be internal or external (probably external). I can't seem to find any information about cd changers for computers. Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks for your time.

Yes you can get trayloading drives that accept more than one cd. Haven't seen them in a while though.

dunno about him, but i would like to learn more about them because it is a pain to have to dig through my crap to find some cd. i'd rather stick it in some 300 disc changer and forget about it.

Yeah...I saw those a while back too. I'm thinking it was 97-98 when they started selling. They were around $60-70 on the auctions back when onsale.com was still around. 😉

That is part of the reason. The other part is because my boss wants to rip a few hundred cds, and he doesn't want to keep waiting at the computer to swap cds. Thanks for your help.

I've never gotten around to trying it, but there are one or two "virtual CD" programs ("Daemon Tools" is one) that create one extra drive letter then swap images in and out. Unfortunately they only work for unprotected and older protection schemes.

Grrr, so many game key discs that I can't just toss in a box.

easy answer...get any cd changer you want, run the audio out into your sound card, and you got it made...sounds simple to me

cant digitally rip them like that though.

I still have an old internal NEC 8x 4cd changer. Only reason I don't use it is I already have a cdrw and a dvd drive in my system so no free ide ports. If you can find one of these on ebay or elsewhere it's your cheapest bet. It was manufactured back in 97 but I guess the technology hasn't advanced much. Only thing they make these days is a Nakamichi 16x 5cd scsi changer. It's expensive though. These guys sell it refurbished for $149 + shipping.
