CD burning question

I'm sure this has been asked about a million times before, but here goes. I have a Plextor PlexWriter 8/4/32 (IDE) and Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.05. Whenever I make a data CD, it cannot be read on my regular CD-ROM drive, which is actually a DVD-ROM drive, the Toshiba SD-M1402. The CD works fine when I read it from the burner. The thing is, I've burned stuff before with almost this exact setup, and I know my DVD drive is capable of reading burned CDs. The last time I successfully used my burner was a couple of months ago, so something must have changed since then. Any ideas?

are u using the cd-copier or are you mastering your own cds? if u are mastering them, make sure you close the sessions.

How's the Toshiba doing with disks you burned way back when? If it used to read them and doesn't now, maybe it is going out of whack. Also, you might try a different brand of CDRs, especially if you've switched. Try a different write speed for the Plexwriter and see if that helps. If you are using 80 minute CDRs, a 74 Minute CDR may work better. Good luck.
