CD Burning Issues with Windows XP?

Running XP Pro, and NTI's CD Maker 2000 Professional. I have their latest version, too, 5.1.17.
The program opens fine, burns perfectly, and auto ejects the CD, as it should.
Thereafter the problem surfaces. When I attempt to exit the program my computer completely freezes and I am forced to manually shut down and reboot. The computer restarts and all is normal again.
My nephew, running the same program with almost identical specs, (except a different make and model burner), is having the same problem.
I have since contacted NTI support and am awaiting their answer. In the meantime, can anyone shed some light on this issue?
BTW: I have a P3 500 with 384MB RAM.
Thank you.

Maybe a free upgrade download to version 5.1.9 might cure your ills. I have no such issues with NTI 5.1.9 and XP Pro.

RobSan, I was running version 5.1.9 when I first noticed the problem. I then went to NTI's website and noticed that a newer version was available, 5.1.17. However, after installing that upgrade the problem still persists.

Sorry Carbo, I misread your version number, but 5.1.9 works perfectly for me both at home (all SCSI) and at work (all IDE).

RobSan, NTI support emailed me the solution. Go to Tools>Options>Preference Tab, and uncheck Eject Disk After Writing. Don't exactly understand why, but that solved the problem. Thanks for your input.
