CD Burner Trouble, Please help

I have a Sony Cd Spressa 8x4x32 CRW. I just recently got a 52x creative labs cd rom. The first time I did a disc to disc copy it worked fine, but since then I've only had one other disc come out alright. The problem is that the cd players recognize that there are songs, and that there are track and lenghts, but no sound. There are no buffer underuns as far as I can tell, the software tells you immediately and stops the recording. Also, to avoid having underun errors, I set the speed back to 4x on the burn. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong and how to fix it? Any help is greatly aprreciated.
 
Have you plugged the audio cable that goes from the back of the CD-ROM drive to your sound card in?
