Cd burner shot?

When you put in a cd,it closes and then spits it back out.
Is there a reset or something a person can do?

You can try to clean the cd and see what happens. Another thing, get a cd rom cleaning kit; the lens in your cd rom is possibly dirty.

What is the time frame for spitting it back out? Does it spit it out even before it closes all the way. Does it spit it out when you try to burn smoething?
