CD Burner Problem

Hi!
I can't reconstruct the exact situation for it is quite a time that it happened...
But suddenly my, when I tried to open my CD burning program, a window popped open telling me:
(in german so I have to translate)
"Error with access to SCSI/IDE-Bus
No SCSI host adapter found"

And I can't use my CD burner then... the burning program is WinonCD, other programs tell nothing or other error messages.

I would be glad and very thankful if someone could tell me how to cope with that problem and use my CD burner again,
it is starting to be quite irritating 🙂

Thx in advance,
Nino Bratovic

hi Nino. 🙂
you didn't say what operating system you're using but I suspect that you don't have a proper ASPI layer installed. suggest you download ForceAspi from here. unzip the program & use the aspichk to see if your layer is correctly installed & up to date. if it's not use the program!
post back with more info on your system if it isn't sorted. 🙂

Hi!
At first, thanks for your quick answer 🙂
Then, I use Windows 98.
Third, I run the program you suggested and it said "Your ... is correctly installed. However, no host adapter has been found."
Nevertheless I extracted the other program and hit first something with "kill" in it and then the installing routine...
From then on, the burner worked again, misteriously 🙂)

There is still some small problem left and it is difficult to describe... the burner is sometimes let's say... howling when it starts to read a rawling, not like any other cd-rom drive or like it did before it fell out completely but very loudly.
I don't know if that is a symptom of another, coming problem or just some minor detail I have to live with 🙂

But anyway,
thank you very much for your help!
Nino
