I have been experimenting with my Iomega cd burner 12x10x40 under both
win 98se and WinXP and I have been getting pc lockups with burning from an image file saved on my hard drive using the software nero 5.5. Buring on the fly works ok.The copy from the image file does get placed on the cd but it will not eject the cd or free my system.
My system is a xp1700 o/c to 1800, 512 megs of pc2100 ddr and a 400w PS. I am running raid 0 ata133 with a dual boot win98/xp .The burner is set to master on its own ide w/ my dvd set to slave on the other ide.
These lock ups freeze everything...I have to totally power down my pc and restart to free my system and cd. Could this be do to my raid setup?
I also downloaded a firmware hack the the burner a while ago but was hesitant to use it....could this help?
