anyone...This is a repeat of an earlier problem making a cd burner work again after installing a dsl connection. At least that's the only change in the system we can tell before the problem. We cannot burn anything saved to the harddrive or the zip drive. Any suggestions? The burning will start and then after 1 or 2 percent lock up the computer. We have worked out dll problems, memory difficulties..Any other thoughts?? thanks

1st) well it sounds to me like an irq problem

2nd) but it could be as well a power supply do you have lots of peripherals?

3rd) take out both the dsl modem and cd burner, make sure you take out drivers as well, restart then shut down install dsl first after its online turn back off and then install cd burner if no luck see if there update drivers for both modem and burner they might even have a know bug /fix for the two but check irq/coflicts fist

A new wrinkle on the problem. The irq problem appears not to exist. Computer says the burner does not use any resources and/or the device sets these up automatically. Strike out here but in the process I stumbled on an additional setting called the Dialup Adapter. Thinking we did not need this anymore due to the dsl I disabled it and tried burning. It burned one track independently then would burn two tracks on a cd-r but would not burn a whole cd disk. Any thoughts on this outcome? Does this make any sence to anyone?
