cd burner = boot disk fail

i just bought a sony dvd burner and everytime i hook it up i got a "boot disk failed", but if i hook my cdburner back up my comp works perfectly fine. whats goin on?!
 
I had the same problem. Does windows automatically restart when you boot up? If so post the error you get before it restarts. You can view the errors by hitting f8 before it trys to boot windows and hit "do not restart if there is an error."
