CCNA: Whats a good book to read so I can pass the certification exam?

i wouldnt reccomend books...cisco has a learning academy thing that is all web/flash based...they use it for their networking acadmies (i grad. from one) look around and you can prolly find a copy...i dunno if u can buy it legally w/o being in a class...

edit:
this is the best because
1) it is written by cisco
2) its built for morons, it explains things easily and efficiantly
3) there are LOTS of labs to help you apply conept
4) there are quizzes that are similar to CCNA test questions

also, if you look for CCNA test answers online, there are ques. and answers to the module tests for the students...the questions are similar to the CCNA test

I am in the academy. Their book sucks. I want something different that will prepare me specificaly for the certification.

your academy has a book? mine only had the elearning software web based stuff...serriously...it is awesome...ive read the books, they arent as good...if u want something to spef prepare u for the cert...the cisco one is the best...if u want a test prep...most of them are just questions that are similar to the test...any will do...but a software one will be btter than a book

The cisco curiculium is very bland and is hard to read due to its choppyness and the fact its written for 5 years.


I need a different source.

Just buy the Cisco Press book for that exam and you should be good to go.

Read it, take notes, take the test.

I used this one a few years ago, and passed with a 920? I think. I forget how they are scored, but it definately helped me out. I also went through the academy.
