CCNA certification help....

Hi. I am looking at doing my CCENT or my CCNA.
I am just unsure on a few things about it...

Is the way you get it, you just have to sit the exam basically and pass? (obviously you will need to get training somewhere)...

I rang up Seek Learning (im from Australia) and they said they provide the training and then a company called ProMetric do the exams. They said that the cost of the training (and its all online.. 45 hours apparently) is $2500. Does this seem a bit steep?

Just need some info on it thanks as I think it would be a great thing to have as I am studying Networking at Uni at the moment and will be looking for work within the next few years in this area.

Many thanks

I would wait and see what you learn in your networking classes. The $2500 does seem steep for an online class. Usually you can take a week long instructor led class for that amount. If you want to start your studies today take a look at the Cisco Press books or some of the other CCNA books that are out there. Those should supplement your classes and serve as good reference materials.
