Why is it that when I run Ccleaner it will show crap under Internet Explorer when I never use IE?!

That's odd. Are you running the latest version? I think it just scans based on the root of the system and looks for any browser related caches or cookies, etc. I haven't ran mine yet but I remember primarily only seeing Firefox stuff. In the internet options of cc cleaner if you have stuff checked for IE it will look for it.

I've noticed that when I run CCleaner also. It's never bothered me enough to make a post, but I do find it odd.

I have seen this behavior ever since I started using Ccleaner and I have always used FF. Been using the two since waaaaay back when. I'm only asking now because it has been bugging the crap out of me.

Looks like imgur changed shit!

Here's a pic

Lots of Windows components use IE. The entire framework that IE is built on is also used by other parts of the OS to function. It's not a standalone aplication like Firefox for example.

I remembe reading somewhere that Explorer.exe was also based on or uses some IE compoenents. Explorer caches a bit of data, so maybe it's that data CCleaner is trying to remove. I guess you use Exporer quite a bit? (In addition to the files associated with Windows Explorer - Recente Documents)

As an example; from Wikipedia (bit old, but relevant):
Removing Internet Explorer does have a number of consequences. Some programs bundled with Windows, such as Outlook Express, and some basic Windows components, such as Help and Support, depend on libraries installed by IE in order to function. Before Windows Vista, it was not possible to run Windows Update without IE because the service used ActiveX technology, which no other web browser supports. With IE removed they fail to work, either partially or entirely. In addition, third-party web browsers based on Trident engine require IE and stop working without it.

That is correct. Just about any app that uses a link to the Internet in Windows will do it via IE.
