Frankly, I see no reason to update my Cclener. It's already great. Guess it's worth updating maybe in about a year.

Always worth updating when it's free and you get improvements,besides bugs fixes are always welcome in a newer version.

why is it that whenever I use the registry cleaner, the 1st pass doesn't always get everything? For instance I just uninstalled Office. First time it ran it found a whole bunch of stuff and I say to FIX ALL. But then I run it again right after and it finds Office-related activex/com stuff, FIX ALL. I run it one more time and it finds unused file extensions related to Office, FIX ALL. It finally came back clear after a 4th run. Shouldn't it have found all this the 1st time? All checkboxes are checked on the left side for what to find.

I don't know why it does that. Even on a fresh install, it takes two passes to clean everything for me.

Outstanding utility that has been in my toolbox for a long time. Some products come and go but CC has stood the test of time and continues to do so.

Now if only I could remember to run it more often.......

There is a provision in Settings to have it run on startup, but it is only for the current user. I add the following registry key to have it run no matter who logs on.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"CCleaner"="C:\\Program Files\\CCleaner\\ccleaner64.exe /auto"

For 32 bit change ccleaner64.exe to ccleaner.exe.

Great program! A must have for ALL computers!

Has anyone else run into issues with the registry cleaner and "invalid" firewall rules? I almost killed a customer system after letting it delete the firewall rules over a year ago. Since then, I'm gun-shy and I always uncheck those!

What firewall? I use Comodo and it doesn't delete any firewall rules.

You don't even need to use a registry cleaner ever, but if for some strange reason you did, CCleaner's registry tool is quite good.
