I have a single 6970 with 11.11a and it was far from great at even 1920*1200 Ultra 8AF0AA. Cities are bad for me. Particularly white run during the day.

Maybe he's rocking a 5ghz proc or something.edit. 4.5Ghz i7-920.

I think something's wrong with your settings or mods.
6850 and c2q @ 3.2 on 1080p ultra (high on shadow) 16af fxaa and i get great performance everywhere. am using many mods as well.
oh , using 11.9
 
Ultra on shadows literally takes off what feels like 30fps. The rest is weird stuttering inside, but I think that's Skyrim's fault. I guess I'll notch down shadows...🙁. Rather than buy a dual core capable of 5Ghz+. or whatever.
