Hi all - I received an odd piece of mail today, that is clearly a scam, and I've found a lot of info about it.
But none of the posts on ripoffreport.com mention what to do if you have not activated the card. They all talk about what to do if you were dumb enough to go through with the activation of the card.
i.e. Can I just rip the sucker up and forget that I ever received it in the mail?
This is in reference to receiving a snail mail that has not only a "Credit Approved" letter, but an actual real, ready to be activated, credit card (which I had never applied for). I won't go into detail about the scam involved...but I just want to know if ripping it up will keep me in the clear.
Links follow...thanks to all who reply!
