CC transfer gotcha's

I recently transfered a balance to my National City credit card from my Universal card because of a 1.9% offer. I did it online on the 6th and balance was posted on the 7th. I just checked my Universal balance, and it hasn't yet posted. I called National City because now I'm a little worried because both cards now have balance. National City tells me it takes 7 to 10 "business days" to post. I read the fine print on their web site...it can take up to 30 days for balance transfers to go through. Ouch! Now, I'm paying interest on the same balance twice.
 
... and why wouldn't you read the fine print BEFORE doing that?

I absolutely shoud have. However, the point of my post, is to raise awareness of cc company practises.
