I went to CC today (Overland Park, KS on Metcalf) to pick up my copy of BF2142 (Which was advertised online for $9.99 along with others like WoW) and noticed that they have a LOT of games with a red dot clearance sticker on them. I will probably go back tomorrow and get a better look at the selection, but one of the games I grabbed because I haven't tried it yet, was LOTR online, for $10! This is B&M only and YMMV. The CC website still has LOTR online listed for $19.99 after $10 savings. If anyone else digs up some cheap, good games at other stores, let us know!

Picked up STALKER for $10 today (Medford, OR), store price was 39.99 :D Always wanted to get the box version, even though I beat the game twice already :)
There is Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for 3 bucks plus some change (if I remember correctly since last night). It's a good game. They also have the Worrior Within, but it's a bit more (check the website).

Fancy. Might stop over at my local one to see if they've got Dawn of War Gold on sale.

Um, this isn't a clearance. This is advertised in their weekly circular. 50% off all PC games that are normally $19.99 and under.

Did they have much of everything in stock? Im from Overland Park also, so that would be where i go. I guess i might have to make a run up there to see if they have anything im interested in.

1. The sticker on the box for LOTR online clearly states "RED DOT CLEARANCE".
2. This game is listed on the CC website as $19.99 AFTER $10 savings (so it's normally $29.99) and I paid $10 in the store for it.
3. Whatever you call it, its a HOT deal for cheap games.
4. Go find somewhere else to thread crap.

Coxmaster - I didn't get a good look at all of the titles, but they did have a large number of boxes with the RED DOT CLEARANCE stickers on them. I'd definitely say it's worth checking out, and like I said before, if I have time after work I'll go back and see what other titles are available. I know they had at least 3 or 4 copies of LOTR online on the shelf when I grabbed mine.

Nice, may pick up on some titles I missed out on like Prey, FEAR etc.

Also for those of you who picked up LOTRO, you're in for a pretty nice treat. Book 12 update went live today and has a ton of fixes and enhancements. The game is still pretty light on content, but if you're coming in new you'll have lots of content to enjoy which has been refined and added to over the course of a year. They've also added a lot of polish to the game engine and overall experience with a DX10 update last year and a spectacular EAX overhaul in Book 12. I may log in today for the first time in months to play around with it but I was very pleased with what I saw and heard on the test server.

Thanks for the list. I may see what the local store has tomorrow, when I'll be near them. Their selection is usually disappointing though.

On CC's website it says "weekly sale" so what is "officially" considered the beginning of next week Sunday or Monday? The only time I can visit CC is on Sunday and if the sale will be over by then, there's no reason to bother.

It's funny how EVE Online provides their client for free and just charges monthly fees, (the first one being higher than the subsequent ones), but WoW, LOTR Online and some others charge $10 or more for the game yet provide the first month "free"... lol This silly trickery has got to stop.

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl - $10

Battle for Middle Earth II - $2.xx

:D

Good stuff. Now I need NWN2... :p

This sale was going on two weeks ago, 50% off all PC games $19.99 and under, there's a 400 or so reply thread on CAG with a pretty thorough list of games that qualify. If you live in a densely populated area your chances of finding some decent titles are probably slim, as most CAG'ers have already cleared their local stores out.

Stopped by CC tonight and picked up a few games. What I couldn't find I stopped by Best Buy and then walmart and got them to price match :) Here's my list of games I picked up.

BF2 2142
Resident Evil 4
SiN
Stalker
Fear
Fear Extraction expansion
Spellforce 2
Silverfall
Quake 4
Guildwars nightfall collectors edition
Maelstorm
Dark Messiah Might and Magic collectors Edition
Gothic 3
Shadow Grounds
Black and White 2
Freelancer

All those and spent like $60 bucks. I think I'm set on entertainment for the next year or so. Most of the games were under $5, some were like $3. It's great!

LP and Hellgate: London are decent games ... not extraordinary - *except* the graphics ... IF you have a VERY capable DX10 rig ... Graphics are spectacular ... especially Hg:L .. and Hg:L is a decent SIngle-Player game .. very repetitive but if you like killing huge mobs of NPCs, this IS for you.

i picked up Jericho for $8 [bad bad reviews] and FEAR's 3rd Expansion - Perseus Mandate - for $10 ... more FEAR ;) ... just to have the complete collection ... i will stop by another CC today and pick thru the leftovers :p

No go at Cottonwood CC in ABQ.

All games had normal prices ( > $40ish)

The only red dots they had were for some gamers card that allows you to get 10% off or something.

Yep, did the same with walmart. That's the exact point of these price matching policies. I still find it annoying though to deal with the "hassle" of price matching. I come in with a sunday circular, they better damn well match the price without quibbling over semantics.

As for a complete list, or as complete as I can find, go to CAG. Not sure if anandtech ever revised the rule of linking to other sites like CAG, so to be on the safe side i won't post a link to them, but use google.

I've got to quit trying to get in on these CC deals. The one closest to me has a pitiful selection of everything and certainly no red dot games. I'm not even sure it's worth driving across town to try the other one...
