cc offers thru the mail vs. another cc not sent to you in an offer

Are you at a better advantage to get a particular card if an offer is sent to you in the mail versus you just finding a card that sounds perfect for you and trying to get it thru the web?

I got a good offer yesterday from Chase for 15 mo's interest free and 1% cash back.

However, I think Rossman or some member's site had a listing for a card that was 12 mo. interest free but the benefits were better (5% for gas, supermarket purchases, 1% otherwise).

Would I have a better chance getting the Chase one because they directly sent it to me in the mail? Or do I have just as good of a chance as getting the Rossman card?

CC offers through the mail are sent to you regardless of whether you are "qualified" or not. i've applied to CC offers that came through the mail, only to be told later that i didnt qualify (im a college student, and they send me offers for VISA platinum and stuff  ).

Now I need to find that member's link. Maybe it wasn't Rossman. Maybe it was. It was one of the top 5 on the list...

If it's the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa then I would accept the pre-approval offer and take your chances. It's almost identical to the CitiBank but it's VISA (instead of MasterCard) and doesn't offer virtual account numbers.
