CC info stolen.. UPDATED

Paid my credit card bill today

Lo and behold on my statement are two charges for orders placed at etronics.com, both of them for $427.34.:|:|:|

Contacted CC company (BofA) and disputed the charges
Contacted local police department and filed a report

Anything else I should do?

Update:

I found out the order#s and tracking#s of the orders he placed. Both were shipped DHL and signed for (neither of which were the names that were on the packages).

Is there any way that etronics would keep an ip log of the orders placed online? Supposedly they could should be able to see the exactly time of the order (it's on the order confirmation).

If I knew his ip address, that could give me (or the police) an idea about where the order was placed.

thats not identity theft, someone just jacked your CC info

So it's not identity theft. Someone just jacked my CC info and pretended to be me...? 😕

identity theft is a lot more involved then someone buying some sh!t from a website with your CC

i coudl buy stuff from a web site with your CC and i would not be stealing your identity

Depending on your financial insttution where you got the card, they may or may not hold you liable if you dispute it....so I would dispute it. The credit card companies wnat there money, and they would rather keep you as a paying customer and try to help you out than to have you close the card and go else where. Talk to them, get as much documentation together and talk to a human if you can.
This come from someone who dealt with the same thing and didn't have to pay a dime- you can do the same, but it will take some effort on your part.

yeah, shut down that card and get a new one

If you havn't already done this, take care of it now... cancel the old cc & have the bank send you out a replacement card with a new number asap.

By law you are only liable for up to $50 for fraud, and even then most credit cards will cover the entire amount out of courtesy.

idunno what etronics is, but *all* websites should keep a log of who does what. I certainly log everything that happens on any of my websites in detail...

etronics is a pretty large online electronics store that sells audio and video stuff. I've shopped there a couple of times w/o any problem.

even if they do "log" whatever its not like the police or anybody are going to do anything over $800...hell i had a guy rack up $1500 on my CC...did the police do anything even though the store these people bought stuff at had SECURITY CAMERAS? hell no....the CC company eats the charges and only goes after the big fish....
