Not sure how it happened, since I only deal with reputable sites/people, but I look at my statement today and there's a $180 payment to "accounting@uniclear.com" that I didn't make...now I have to get my card replaced - what a pain. :(

Uniclear appears to be a Paypal competitor, so I'm guessing someone got my number and is trying to transfer funds to another account before I noticed.

I have 6 credit cards and I only used one with a limit of 2k to do daily shopping and others. When it comes to online shopping, I always try to use a MBNA one-time use number...

My CC doesn't offer one-time use numbers - maybe I should get a new card :p

CitiBank and MBNA offer this useful feature, I've used it dozens of times without any problems :)

I gotta give a big  to the Uniclear fraud department - contacted them about 4 hours ago, and my refund is already in the works! Now I just have to wait on my new CC...

Heh.

I once got held up at gun-point in a pizzeria and had my wallet stolen. I cancelled all my accounts within a half-hour. The guys wound up using my cards at a few gas stations around the area. The cops wound up catching them knocking over another joint and found my credit cards on them :Q

Are they still going to try to figure out who was using the card?

They said it was used at one of the merchants on their network - I didn't really press them for details since there isn't much I can do besides get my refund and a new CC #. I'm guessing the merchant will go after whoever used it once Uniclear takes the $180 from them.
