Got a card in the mail from Circuit City, says spend $200 or more between 12/6-12/15 and get a gift card for 10% of the total. No item restrictions.

Edit: Got the end date wrong, corrected.

Keep in mind that is not 10% off, but 10% towards your next purchase. So buy your item(s) for $200+ and then get the gift card and spend that on accessories or warranty while you're in the store. Last year, a lot of people just bought their stuff all at once (not a bad idea considering it adds to the 10%) and then were stuck with a gift card and nothing else they really wanted at the moment.

I got another Preferred Customer Weekend envelope, with three 10% off coupons in it a few days ago.
Good Dec.6-8

yeah, it's 10% off your next purchase of FAR batteries or mice or .... sometime in the future, which is almost as good as 10% off now.

wonder if you could pull a big scheme of buying it, getting the card, returning the item* and then buying the same item again, using the card. Maybe not buying anything at all, just getting a free GC? Probably more of a hassle than it's worth, but hey, why not?

*Yes, I know you'd need your receipt to claim the GC, but CC keeps "receipts" in their files, so you wouldn't need it. Wonder if they mark it void in their systems?

That does not work. IIRC, the 10% GC shows on your receipt and I believe they adjust the prices of the purchased items by 10% in case you want to return them.

Will it work online? That way I can combine it with MSN 20%
Well, Circuit City lets you order online, and pick up the order at the store. They also have a policy that says they will give you the lower price between the web site price and the in-store price. So it seems that you can order online and get the MSN 20%, then go to the store and pick up your order and get the 10% gift card :) I'm guessing when you go to pick it up, the CC people would have no idea that you even got the MSN 20%.

Oh, and I suppose you can then wait for your MSN money, and use it with the gift card you just got to purchase something else at CC in Jan. or Feb. or whenever you get the MSN money. Plus, CC should price match any local competitors.

Edit:
Also, get 2% credited to your UPromise account:

I've never even considered "return and rebuy" bannable, but whatever. :-\

how/where do you get in on this deal... just purchase something over $200 or do i need to have one of those flyers they sent in the mail? if so, how do i get one of those?

i plan on making a $2500 purchase there in the near future and this would give me a reason to do it sooner rather than later.

thanks.
