Part of the article:

"CBS television said it obtained photos of the critically injured princess taken after the August 1997 fatal car crash along with information from a secret 4,000-page French report on the accident.

Publication of photos of the last hours of the much-loved princess have hitherto been considered off limits because of the nature of her injuries and out of respect for her two sons, princes William and Harry.

CBS said it would broadcast "photocopies of photos" from the French report on its "48 Hours Investigates" program Wednesday night and make public for the first time some of the details of the police report. CBS did not disclose how it obtained the French report."

A lot of people (especially women) associated very strongly with her. Married into royalty, lived the dream princess dream, etc. My mom married about the same time she did, had kids about the same time, etc.

I don't get it, but whatever.

I don't think it's necessary to show wreck photos though.

Rather tasteless, even moreso considering she was royalty.

I think she was very pretty (even before the nose jobs).... I have no desire to see the crash pics. I want to remember her the way she was...

No reason for it methinks. I thought the FCC was trying to crack down on decency?

Oh they are....Very hard on Indecency....just not on TV, where the crap started. They are going for Radio instead. :|
Im waiting for someone to start a Boycott of CBS. They keep pulling this stupid stuff here lately just to have "CBS" plastered all over other news stations.

Oh ok... off color audio is definately much more toxic to us than pictures of people dying.

What does "Royalty" make it more tasteless? I understand that they make a nice tourist attraction for Great Britain but other than that "Royalty" are no more or less human than anyone else. They just have a nice gambit where they get paid by the public to act like they are somehow above everyone else.

God, are we still talking about this? She's more annoying dead than alive. And who wants to see her all smashed up...is that even legal?

Uncovered breasts are obscene, but ghoulish photos of a dying woman are A-OK with our new Decency Overlords.

All hail Emperor Bush!

The ironic thing is, if I remember correctly, when the Princess Di accident happened years ago, and all the other news stations were covering it live, CBS was showing wrestling...

I guess they're trying to make up for it now.

Man, I remember thet night she crashed like it was yesterday. It was before my first year of college at RIT, I had just flown into Rochester and checked into the Holiday Inn. Turned on the TV and there it was on CNN: "Princess Diana killed in car crash" :Q

I guess it'll be ingrained in my mind forever. I don't agree with them releasing the pics of her crash though :(

Yea, because Bush probably took the pictures himself and then sold them to CBS. Christ what's with you fvcking liberals? If anything goes wrong in the world it's somehow Bush's fault. Are you gonna blame him for when your favorite TV show got canceled, or when you fell in the shower?

Typical liberal asshat.
