This isn't news, it's been delayed for years. But the SPs lost a major court appeal today, further putting us on target for the November deadline.
I can't believe the sonsabitches are still acting like they don't know how to implement portable numbers - as if it wasn't already available everywhere else in the world.
Oh, and they don't think number portability will do anything? Yeah right! The only reason I haven't changed is b/c I don't want to lose my number!

I heard a rumor about this a few weeks ago. THis is great as it is perhaps the #1, maybe #2 reason people dont switch providers. It would be even better if there was someway they could put a referral on the # if a person changed it. Like if you changed your landline #, you could have the phone company put a referall on your old one to tell people your new #.
