I know after Trump wanted to put razor sharp spikes on the border to maim people or outfit the border with alligators it's hard to be surprised but man.

Fifteen days before the 2018 midterm elections, as President Trump sought to motivate Republicans with dark warnings about caravans heading to the U.S. border, he gathered his Homeland Security secretary and White House staff to deliver a message: “extreme action” was needed to stop the migrants.

That afternoon, at a meeting with top leaders of the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection officials suggested deploying a microwave weapon — a “heat-ray” designed by the military to make people’s skin feel like it is burning when they get within range of its invisible beams.

Not sure how that heat ray would work. But if safe, non-lethal methods could be employed to the borders instead of building huge walls and infrastructure wouldn't that be a good thing? Say you are trying to sneak across, and a hidden motion detector is activated and you are sprayed with an obnoxious substance that is non-toxic, but so bad you'd think you'd eaten at Old Country Buffet or had a Hardees thick burger earlier in the day.

Or what about non-lethal sound, sound so annoying that you'd do anything to want to get away, something like your wife telling you to mow the lawn and do the recycling when you just want to go fishing?

We don't need to burn people to keep them away, there has to be other alternatives, like locking them in rooms for up to 90 minutes making them listen to on hold music interrupted by a voice telling them how important their call is, and someone will be with them shortly.

How about instead of trying to keep out the "scary brown people" through pretty immoral means and reasons, we actually try to address the underlying reasons they want to come to the US: political and economic instability in their home countries, often brought about as a result of decades of US policies.

The collapse of the United States in the following months should solve those underlying reasons.
OTOH, if by some miracle we don't challenge the election - and these issues matter next year, then I'll add the following.

We need to stop our population from increasing. That needs to be a high priority. To achieve stability and sustainability. That means border control.

wasn’t something like this used in Iraq, basically a microwave dish mounted on a truck or whatever and it causes the people it’s pointed at to have a burning sensation without actually burning them?
 
The heat based ADS units give you the feeling of being under a broiler, but they don't cook you the same way and leave visible damage, faik. Last I heard they put the kabosh on it as they didn't want to create a new horrible tool for interrogators. The issue of medical implants and age of targets was also an issue. For these reasons the sound wave based ADS was invested in, but there are settings on those units that can still mess people up pretty bad. Supposedly the nastier ranges of use can not only destroy your hearing, they can mess with your innards and cause you to vomit/shit yourself. "The low settings" are effective most of the time on unprepared subjects as they drop whatever they are holding to cover their ears, I heard that users liken it to instant remote handcuffs.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising these wall nuts want everything they can get. I remember us all having a good time laughing at Trump's desire for snakes and gators in a moat. No sharks with laser beams, but snakes and gators are still entitled to a hot meal right?

The low frequency ones are not used because low frequencies are omni-directional and therefore the user suffers as well from shitting of the pants.

You'd think DJT would be all over the companies under his watch that have been busted for using illegal immigrants given his stance on it, but I suppose punishing those financially that actually perpetuate the problem would be somehow politically incorrect.

I figured it was satirical. However, some people around here are pretty awful human beings, so I felt it was worth calling out the inhumanity of what we often do under the guise of "border security".

Low frequencies to be effective need big motors (Speakers/drivers) and lots of horsepower (wattage) to drive them.
