Cbit is/was today where is our report on NEW CARDS

I sure would like to know if anything new was shown at Cbit but nothing posted about it on here or at Tom's. Paper release or not or whatever as long as some new official news would be nice on the NV40/45.

The only 'official' news I've heard is: NV40 will 'launch' (although it's likely to be a paper launch, unless NVIDIA has been unusually successful in keeping anyone who's seen working NV40 hardware from even starting rumors about it) on April 13th. But even that wasn't an official NVIDIA press release.

According to the Inq😕 they are only being shown under NDA.

ExtremeTech has stated that their "sources" believe nv40 will launch April 13.

Have any of you heard any news at all on the ATI card? I read about the April 13 release for Nvidia but nothing on ATI???? Geez, I waited all this time for Cebit and now NOTHING???? WTF.......:disgust:

It's been known for a while that if ATi and nV show R420 and NV40 at Cebit, it'd be behind closed doors. Both cards were rumored to be revealed early April. nV seems more firmly set for April launch than ATi. I'm hoping we'll see R420 at GDC, in a few days. 🙂

I hope so!!! I have been patient for quite a while now (seeing revisions of the same core since the 9700 pro). I want to see some next generation cards performance and buy the best one! I guess we will be waiting at least until the GDC (maybe longer)? I have been surprised by the lack of announcements to this point from Cebit?

That is amazing considering rumors stated ATI had finalized their card months ago and NVidia just recently decided to revamp their card to a 16 pipeline solution with 210 million transistors and they still gonna hit the market earlier? wow...

Oh wait...wait I think my 8500 is whispering something to me .... Oh poor thing does not want to be put in the closet just yet, but it just might have to go.🙂

I think both companies are just waiting for the other to unveil their hand to see who will have the upper hand in this match.

Actually, rumors are nV taped out both the <16 pipe "NV40" and the 16pipe NV45 at the same time, in mid-December. nV may just release two "high-end" chips, which would fit into their promise to offer five (!) chips/cards this generation.
