It's okay to not know what "CBGB and OMFUG" actually means, but to not know about the history of CBGB? That's un-American.

CBGB was perhaps the most important original live music club in US history. It was the equivalent of London's The Cavern, Seattles Crocodile Club or the Indra and Kaiserkeller clubs in Hamburg. In the 70s it was ground zero for American music, Blondie, the Talking Heads and the Ramones all started there.
