CB/Scanner Antenna's recomendation

Im in the market for a new CB/Scanner antenna and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me one.

Right now I am leaning towards a FireStik but I am not sure. Does anyone have any experiance with them?

I had a 4 foot FireFly but it was too tall and I had to keep removing it before driving into my garage. I swapped it out with a 3 foot one.

Never had problems with the FireStik. Of course, I have no other set ups to compare.

I bought a FireStik mainly because of the reviews I read online. It seems like those and the Wilson antennas are favored.

i havea 4' firestik on my Jeep. It has suffered much abuse but it hasnt broken, cracked, or stopped working yet.

Any CB antenna will be a compromise when connected to a scanner. It's tuned for the 27Mhz spectrum and will perform best at the lower range of scanner frequencies (30-50Mhz) and may be pretty poor for the upper range (trunked police bands, 900Mhz stuff).

Be careful as it's illegal in some states...including here in KY... to have a scanner in your vehicle. I know here they will confiscate your scanner and stick you with a big fine

Scanner use in NJ is illegal in furtherance of a crime. And since i wont be doing that Im all good hehehe.


Im thinking of buying the Uniden BCT 7 scanner. I heard that is good.

Right now I have a Cobra CB. Eh its ok, but my antenna suck0rz.
