Caviar Black 500GB vs 640GB reliability

At newegg they are priced almost same, 1 dollar difference. I was wondering if any one of them more reliable than the other? maybe one of them is single platter? is there a way to know how many platters a drive uses?

The 500 has 2x250 platters and the 640 is 2x320. I have 2 of the WD6401AALS drives and they are the best spinners I have ever used.

The site listed has many errors in it. The WD6401AALS is only 2x320 platters, not the 3 listed there.
