Cavalier Fixed IP address issue while trying to setup router

I have recently switched from Verizon to Cavalier Telephone Dsl. I still have the Westell Versalink 327W dsl modem 4 port and wireless router all in one which I bought with verizon. I was asking on how can I set up Cavtel Dsl with it. Cavalier dsl uses a fixed ip address, which has been giving me many issues trying to set it up. First there is the type of connection, the modem has four option: PPPa, PPPo, Bridge connection, and classic IPOA. With either connetion I cannot get it running very well. I set it up with a bridge connection once, I got online, with the config I put in, but I couldn't get back in the modem config, and I couldn't use the wireless router nor the 4 port switch. I could only use one computer. Every single time I would try the other connections and configures the private lan with the IP address cavtel gave me, it didn't connect and I couldn't get into the router config again. So I was wondering whether someone who maybe faced the same issue could help on how to set up my dsl modem/router with Cavalier Dsl. Sorry for the long text, any help would be greatly appreciated. I contacted cavalier, they still haven't replied back yet.

Sounds like you need a new DSL provider. Did they not give you instructions when you signed up? They should be on the phone fixing for you if they like to have customers.

Most DSL uses PPPoE, so try that.

I have tried PPPoE, still nothing. I can connecti with the modem they provided, but it doesn't have a 4 port switch or wireless connection. I am waiting for Cavtel to reply to my email, sooner or later I call them. I was really trying to figure out whether or not I could use a fixed ip with my current router or any router. So I would know maybe I need a different router and it is my Westell Versalink 327W that isn't working.
